Around this time every year, we start to get a lot of questions about end-of-year giving. For tax purposes, as well as other reasons, many people want to get their donations to the church by the end of the year, but some are confused about how to do so. Here’s a quick guide.
Giving Online
The fastest way to give is via online giving. If you give online, all contributions made before midnight on January 1 will be posted as a 2018 donation.
Giving via Check
If you are going to give using a check (or cash), then your donation must be received in our office prior to January 1. Unfortunately, a postmark prior to January 1 on a donation that has been mailed in does not count. The donation must be in hand before the end of the year for us to be able to list that donation in your 2018 contribution totals. (Of course, you can always just drop your donation off at the office instead of mailing it.)
